January Boulder Cup Brawl

January kicks off Ranked PvP tournaments, with the BOULDER CUP. Read on, if you’d like to participate.

What is the Boulder Cup?

Each month the Silph Arena holds a month-long Cup – a ‘themed’ PvP tournament – that provides trainers around the world a specially-designed competitive challenge.

January’s themed PvP tournament is the Boulder Cup.

The Boulder Cup has a few special rules (designed to provide added challenge and fun) that differ from standard PvP combat in Pokemon GO:

  • Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Only Pokemon with a maximum CP of 1500 are permitted in the Cup
  • Only Pokemon with at least one of the following types are permitted: Rock, Ground, Fighting, & Steel
  • Arena Rules will be followed in all other particulars.

How to participate

Monsterhunt will be hosting the monthly themed tournaments every month.
If you want your ranking to be tracked (win/loss and ranking among your peers in the community), then start with step 1. If you wish to not have it tracked, proceed with step 2.

  1. Make your way HERE to create your Silph Road traveler card.
  2. Click on THIS link to access the tournament page for Monsterhunt.
  3. Click the “Log In” link to proceed.
  4. If you have a TSR account (that you made in step 1), use that to log in. If you do not, use the “Make Account Later” option (and provide your email)
  5. In the next step, click on “I am interested in attending” button. This will RSVP you for the tournament.
